Centre for Environmental Research & Education - Switch on Solar Project - TATA Memorial Centre ACTREC

CERE proposes open access solar power facility for Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) to help them meet their energy consumption requirements. In the open access model, solar panels will be installed at a solar park. The generated solar power will be transmitted to ACTREC through grid infrastructure. ACTREC will own the solar plant asset at the solar park through the funds provided to them and the solar power generated will be used for its self-consumption.
A 1 MW solar power installation will generate electricity of 14,00,000 units and result in savings of Rs 95,20,000 annually at the unit rate of Rs 6.8 and offset carbon emissions to the tune of 1120 MTCO2e each year. ACTREC will be able to divert funds from its energy bills to life saving cancer research.  In particular, these savings can be invested in ACTREC’s upcoming hospital expansion project to increase their bed capacity and provide more sophisticated, technologically advanced treatment to new patients.
