Centre for Environmental Research & Education - Switch on Solar Project, KEM Hospital Pune

CERE proposes to install a rooftop solar power plant at KEM Hospital in Pune based on their electricity requirement and the available rooftop space.  Project to install 329 kW rooftop solar at KEM Pune which will help the hospital divert funds from energy bills to support many more patients at the hospital or invest in better infrastructure facilities.
KEM Hospital services: Critical Care, Diabetology, Nephrology and Dialysis, High Risk Obstetrics, Neonatology and a Comprehensive Rehabilitation Centre for children with special needs.
The project also will help reduce carbon emissions to the tune of 368.48 MTCO2e yearly. The system will also be connected to the electricity grid via a net meter. This will ensure that extra power generated during the day is supplied to the grid and when solar power is not available the hospital will be able to use grid electricity without any interruption to its services.
