Centre for Environmental Research & Education - Switch on Solar Project - Maharashtra Arogya Mandal (MAM) Sane Guruji Arogya Kendra

CERE proposes to install an approx 175kW rooftop solar power plant at MAM’s Sane Guruji Arogya Kendra, Pune. This rooftop solar PV system will generate an approximate 2.45 lac units of electricity annually and will help the hospital save INR 29.4 lakhs every year in energy costs at estimated Rs 12 per unit.
Services at the hospital include Multispecialty OPDs, Laboratory, Radiography, ICU, NICU, OT, Divyanga Kendra, Ayurveda, Yoga, Health awareness, vaccination.
The system will also be connected to the electricity grid via a net meter. This will ensure that extra power generated during the day is supplied to the grid and that when solar power is not available the hospital will be able to use grid electricity with any interruption to its services.
The solar power plant will help the hospital divert funds from energy bills to support many more needy patients and will help the hospital accrue financial savings that can support an additional 6113 medical interventions over 25 years.
