Geopolymer Concrete

•    Eco-friendly construction material and an alternative to Portland cement concrete.
•    Made from utilization of waste materials such as CDE waste, fly ash and ground granulated blast furnace slag(GGBS).
•    Its production generates much less CO2 emissions as compared to conventional cement.
Any waste material containing aluminosilicate mineral such as fly ash, granulated blast furnace slag, rice husk ash, clay, etc. when treated with alkali solutions gives geopolymer cement.
This cement when cured at a temperature develops high strength and can be used for various applications.
This concrete gains its compressive strength rapidly and faster than ordinary Portland cement concrete and the drying shrinkage is much less compared to cement concrete.
The fire resistance is considerably better than OPC based concrete.
It offers better protection to reinforcement steel from corrosion as compared to traditional cement concrete and it possesses high acid resistance as well.
One of the main problems with geopolymer cement is its poor workability and it is prone to fast setting.
