Timbercrete

•  It is an environmentally sensitive building material and is made from a blend of sawmill waste, cement, sand, binders and a non-toxic deflocculating additive.
•  Lightweight insulating concrete material, lighter than traditional concrete and reduces transportation emissions.
•  Timber concrete could also be formed into traditional shapes like pavers, bricks, blocks and panels.
Timbercrete products are made from recycled timber waste such as sawdust from sawmills and other cellulose materials from plantation timbers with no trees cut down for the production. Thus, waste product sawdust is also reused which replaces some of the energy-intensive components of traditional concrete.
- Provides up to six times the thermal insulation of conventional bricks.
- High fire safety rating, performing better than other building bricks, especially in bushfire risk areas.
- Good sound absorption qualities.
- Superior bracing values for use in earthquake prone or cyclonic areas.
- Reduced laying costs and increased speed of construction when using veneer, double brick or single skin structures.
- Designed to last, with rot and termite resistance.
- More energy efficient production process than conventional kiln dried process of clay brick manufacturing.
- Stores carbon gases, functioning as a carbon trap.
